Ixbalam Ke Women Weavers design a fabulous shawl featuring five bands with repetitive openwork patterns. They are symbols for life in the countryside featuring corrals (rhombuses) and inside, the patterns represent a dog’s paw print. Butterflies flutter outside and the dots symbolize corn. The cotton wrap is woven on a traditional back strap loom while the fringe is braided and tied by hand.
